This June we took our third (!) Viking River Cruise. This one went from Brussels up to Amsterdam. Leaving aside the fact that Brussels is the worst airport we’ve ever been subjected to, our first full day was in the remarkable city of Antwerp.
At times, the wealthiest city in the world. And even now, when most of the worlds coffee, chocolate, and diamonds flow through its ports, it’s right up there. $54 billion in diamonds pass through here every year.
But rather than write a clever bunch of paragraphs, I’ll just provide images with captions.
It was a chilly grey day when we were there, but we’d happily return. And I saw three record shops on just one block!
We docked alongside the park off to the left (on the Scheldt River). Pan over to see.
