A day I wouldn’t trade for anything. Strasbourg, in Alsace, is beautiful.
We’re already planning in our minds a week there. We would have stayed in the Petite France district even on a cloudy, chilly, drizzly day.
Home of Johannes Gutenberg, inventor of the printing press, just the place for a typography expert (not me, Elyse).
The cathedral district, with it’s narrow streets full of interesting shops, is a must-visit. There’s a farmers’ market nearby, too. April is white asparagus season — I didn’t know there was such a thing. Fat spears as big around as my thumb were everywhere. Plus all of the local charcuterie and baked goods. Our Air BnB absolutely must have a kitchen!
Afterwards, a feast on the boat of wursts, pretzels, potato salad, everything German or Alsatian. Plus beer.
My knee was killing me by now, but I’m doing my best to not grimace too much!
