After the passing of my mom in June, we decided it was time to sell the house. We had moved into the house in Brook Park, Ohio, in the summer of 1967. I lived there through the end of elementary school, through Junior High School and High School. I commuted to college my freshman year, and after that stayed there through holidays.
After I graduated college in 1979 I moved to New York, and that was that. I only went back once or twice a year. More after I had kids, but still, on some level, it was always “my house.” Never more so than last month, when we stayed there for three weeks getting my dad set up for the next phase. We did a lot of work and we all came to think of it as “our house.”
So it’s on the market. If you’re looking for a nice starter home in the western suburbs of Cleveland, you could do worse.

And now that’s done too. Sold in a week.
