In a presentation I saw yesterday I was introduced to a Library of Congress with that hosts historical newspapers. Now there are a lot of sites, but this one was interesting because it was full-text searchable.
Unfortunately my hometown papers the Cleveland Press and The Plain Dealer haven’t been digitized there. But the daily paper of Butler, PA, is. Long-time readers may recall that part of my family hails from there, and my cousin and I did a genealogy road trip some years back.
When we were in Butler, all we had to go by was boxes of microfiche. Text searching is much better. Here’s a few highlights.
