If you’ve had kids, you’ve read the Dr. Seuss book “Gertrude McFuzz.” This weekend, I’m conducting a crack team of local musicians, along with the wonderful soprano Lori Mirabal and some really talented local students, a staging of Rob Kapilow’s one-act opera of the story.

Also on the bill, a dramatic reading of Dr. Seuss’ “Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon.”
This is the first opera I’ve conducted (at my advanced age, I’m still getting started with new experiences), there’s a possibility the composer will be there, and also that we’ll film one of the performances. So it’s pretty exciting.
