Speaking of movies, here’s another top-right one. Gene Hackman, John Travolta, Renee Russo, Bette Midler, Danny DeVito, Dennis Farino, James Gandolfini. Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, based on the Ellmore Leonard novel. A pleasure from start to finish, a tight story played just right.

Watched it years ago. Was it a sequel to something else? I remember thinking it was good but not as good as whatever came before it. Or maybe it was so similar to something else that i compared it to that something else.
I’ll have to watch again because of Gene Hackman. It’s a pleasure to see him in anything (but not nothing at all ;).
You’re thinking of “Be Cool,” which was the sequel to “Get Shorty.” And indeed, “Be Cool” is not as good. Though it has its moments in some scenes with Vince Vaughan.
Nope, it’s not Be Cool. I’ve never seen nor heard of that. Could it be Pulp Fiction? Is Get Shorty anything like that? I can’t remember. Whatever it was it was before Get Shorty.
Oh, BTW, i stole your link to the Best Films that didn’t get an oscar and posted it on my other favorite blog. It’s a hit!
The only thing Pulp Fiction had in common was John Travolta. You’ve got me. What’s your other favorite blog? Don’t be afraid to post a link.
If i told you my other blog I would never hear the end of it from you. So i plead the 5th. Maybe someday i’ll tell you in person when i’ll have an opportunity to explain it.
