Why does a good liberal like myself care about “24”? Who knows, but I can’t get enough of it. But according to the Fox TV site, the next season begins January 2009 — the whole January – June 2008 cycle is being skipped. Alas. Here’s the official trailer for the upcoming season. It probably looks like there are some serious season-spoilers here, but from past history I’d guess that everything you see here happens in the first 45 minutes.
Me and Claire were total Gilmore Girls devoteés! Up until the last season they had the snappiest writing on TV and we just couldn’t get enough of it.
One of her best friends lives across the street from Kelly Bishop, by the way.
I know how it feels when a show you like is takes a hiatus or is being cancelled.
When Gilmore Girls was cancelled suddenly and without a clousure episode (not because of lack of viewship btw) my girl and I were so upset. I wouldn’t even let anybody talk to me on Tuesday nights from 8-9 When Gilmore Girls was on that’s how much i loved that show. I know – you guys don’t get the Gilmore Girls thing.
Then with ‘Rome’ we got hooked the first season, and were thrilled when they said they would be having a second season. But the second season would be two years later. So we kept HBO for that and waited impatiently. Now there are rumors that there could be a third season of ‘Rome’ in 2009 or 2010.
Anyway, i feel your loss.
Somehow i just knew that Claire would be a Gilmore Girls fan. You, however, well that was a bit of a shock. Whew! I’m ok now. So i don’t have to explain the show to you.
OK, the last season wasn’t the greatest writing-wise, but i liked where they were going with Lorelai’s relationship with her mother. I thought that Lorelai was finally coming around to understanding her mother and accepting her and maybe even becoming a bit like her mother. If the show ended properly, (we were totally jipped) that would’ve happened and she would’ve gotten back together with Luke!! And Rory would dump that annoying creep boyfriend of hers and get a new guy.
