True story, saw this at the supermarket this evening.
The lady in front of me rings up $96 worth of merchandise, and tells the guy at the register she wants to pay $50 of it in cash, and the rest with her debit card.
He takes the $50 cash; she swipes her card; and he asks, “exact?”
Wait! What? Is he asking her if the $50 she gave him in cash is exactly $50? Or is he actually asking her if she wants cash back? Either way he’s as dumb as a box ‘o rocks.
He’s asking if she wants cash back. It would have been great if she’d asked for $50 back.
