Nobody goes to Times Square for New Years Eve, it’s too crowded. We were there the evening of the 30th, which is apparently when everyone goes instead. Fun, but really crowded.

Over the summer I found a set of five part books in the SHU library for madrigals by the English composer Henry Lichfield. As a project I took the original mensural notation and turned it into modern notation for brass quintet. After the jump you can download a zip file of the whole package.
Don’t ask why, but I’ve gotten myself on a couple of GOP e-mail lists. Sometimes it’s amusing to get the disinformation right from the horse’s mouth. Today’s nonsense concerns the long-departed prospect for government-run healthcare.
Saw this one at Best Buy tonight. Admittedly it’s a little surprising they have a book department at all, and it was tempting to re-arrange the stock to make it even better than it was.
