Our first of the year, a few lonely white flakes drifting down. A dusting on the roof. All gone already.
I know, you in the Great Lakes region got hammered this week. We still have green leaves on a lot of the trees out here in New Jersey.

AWOL

November 17th, 2008 | 0 Comments | Uncategorized |

Just so you don’t think this blog is fading away, I’ve had a frenetic couple of days (in a good way, I’m not complaining) that’s kept me from even checking my email. We plan to return to our regularly scheduled agenda of fascinating and stimulating posts very soon.

But Does He Talk Like A Pirate?

September 30th, 2008 | 0 Comments | Uncategorized |

The Saturday Times had a story about the pirates off the coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean (a serious problem), though this time the geniuses (pirates) bit off a little more than they could chew. They hijacked a freighter that turned out the be a military transport, include a number of battle tanks. Not [...]

Farmland Ride Through Hunterdon County

August 17th, 2008 | 5 Comments | Uncategorized |

Saturday’s ride was a nice one. Beautiful sunny weather, around 80 degrees and dry. The ride was only 37 miles, but it was nice enough that I wished it were more.

Movie Cameos

June 28th, 2008 | 0 Comments | Movies, Uncategorized |

Another fun list, this one of movie-stealing cameos. Number one is, naturally, Alec Baldwin’s amazing introduction to “Glengarry Glen Ross.”
But what’s a list without a little quibbling? Nothing, that’s what it is. Especially around here. They somehow left out one that, at least in my mind, rivals the Great Mr. Baldwin. That would be [...]

The Giants Are Going To The Super Bowl

January 20th, 2008 | 5 Comments | Uncategorized |

Not like I’ve followed football at all this year. But the game tonight against Green Bay has to go down as one of the classic playoff games. Two closely matched teams shot it out, with big plays, and very few turnovers. Good officiating too, such penalties as there were, were all legit. And the [...]

28 Years

July 27th, 2007 | 6 Comments | Uncategorized |

It was twenty-eight years ago today that I moved to New York from Ohio. This should be an occasion for a little introspection, to evaluate where I’ve been and where I’m going. How my goals in life have changed, and how I’ve met all the challenges life has placed before me.

Or, I could just go out and have a few beers while watching the Yankees.
