Our first of the year, a few lonely white flakes drifting down. A dusting on the roof. All gone already.
I know, you in the Great Lakes region got hammered this week. We still have green leaves on a lot of the trees out here in New Jersey.
Just so you don’t think this blog is fading away, I’ve had a frenetic couple of days (in a good way, I’m not complaining) that’s kept me from even checking my email. We plan to return to our regularly scheduled agenda of fascinating and stimulating posts very soon.
Sorry. There’s stuff to write about, I just haven’t been doing it.

Last night around midnight I was awakened by the sound of squealing tires and crashing cars.
Saturday’s ride was a nice one. Beautiful sunny weather, around 80 degrees and dry. The ride was only 37 miles, but it was nice enough that I wished it were more.
And why not? When my kids were old enough to collect plush toys they learned the names of all the Beanie Babies. And what’s that going to do for them when they work on their PhD in physics at Berkeley? Nowhere, that’s where.
My flowers are enjoying the summer.

It was twenty-eight years ago today that I moved to New York from Ohio. This should be an occasion for a little introspection, to evaluate where I’ve been and where I’m going. How my goals in life have changed, and how I’ve met all the challenges life has placed before me.
Or, I could just go out and have a few beers while watching the Yankees.
