Despite my earlier rant, I decided to give Verizon another shot at installing the FIOS service. After all, it could save me $60–80 a month — money that I could certainly use.
Following is the tragi-comic rundown of how it went down. How much patience do I really have? We’ll see — they can’t get it done today, we’ll try again Friday afternoon.
America’s Silliest Governor?

The proposal would mean pay cuts for 366 superintendents at the end of their contracts, saving school districts $9.8 million.
Which if you do the math is about a buck-and-a-quarter for every man, woman and child in the great state of New Jersey, per year.
I can hardly wait to start spending a windfall like that.
