True, Google Earth is old news. But it’s fun to explore a little and find some unusual sights (sites?), beyond the usual Pyramids and Taj Mahal kinds of landmarks.
Inspired by the work of Anthony Cartouche, I’ve been trying to post something on this blog every day. Some days it’s been touch-and-go, but today marks a solid month without missing a day. Thanks to the team here at tom-mcgee.com world headquarters and, if things go well, I might post something tomorrow that’s actually meaningful — instead of filler like this.

Hiking with a friend in the Rez Sunday night, we sat down for a rest at the overlook just as big storm system passed to the south of us. As it moved across Essex County towards New York Harbor and Brooklyn we got to see an unusual sight: a horizon-to-horizon perfect rainbow, and underneath it all of New York from past the Empire State Building down over the Verrazano Bridge.
JJ Blues will be playing again at Maplewoodstock 2008. We hit at 7 p.m. on Saturday. If you’re in the area, swing on by — two solid days of outstanding local bands in a nice outdoor setting. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
