The Cassini spacecraft sent back photos today from its polar orbit of Saturn, showing literally never-before-seen images of its rings from above. There’s a gallery of photos available on NASA’s Cassini site, but this one really grabbed me because of it’s beautiful, almost painterly, subtle coloration. Just barely visible the fringes of the inner rings at about 4:00 and 6:00.
Having found a gainful consulting gig with Big Financial Firm in Jersey City. Any time I’m in a new neighborhood I like to go exploring, and found that “Joisey City” has some really nice qualities.
It’s funny but not-at-all-funny at the same time. Casino owner Steve Wynn was doing a presentation on his very famous Picasso painting, “Le Rêve,” before it was auctioned and got a little carried away. The painting was expected to fetch around $140 million. But Steve has a eye disease affecting his peripheral vision, and was a little closer to the painting than he thought.

The photographer who shot what may be the most famous war photograph ever has died at 94. The photo depicts soldiers raising the flag on Mount Suribachi after a four-day battle to climb the 546 mount. 6800 US servicemen died in the battle.
