No, I never got around to writing Armstrong County for John McGee's naturalization papers. As you would imagine these last several months genealogy has been the last thing on my mind. But I will do that when things have settled down. I suppose when we get those naturalization papers we'll know where to target our trip to Ireland. I wouldn't want to go until we knew the place he came from.

Sounds great to me. Have you ever found any Irish source relating to us? It's a big country, it'd be cool to target out visit to the right location.

Speaking of Ireland, I once told Uncle Bill I was planning to go to Ireland someday. He said he wanted to come too. We talked about the whole fam damily going together. Have I ever mentioned it to you? I'm thinking maybe the summer after next (2010). If we had our genealogy up to speed it would be even better.

I was there once, for about an hour on a layover in Shannon. Looking out the window rom the plane I couldn't believe how green it was. Like a green i'd never seen before. Awesome.

HA! Good for Claire. Has she started asking you if you need her to go to the store for anything yet?

Maybe geologically-speaking those 300 feet tall things were once mountains? But over here that is what we call a foothill. Or a speed bump.

But seriously, the Sierra's are nice. Altho, i still can't wait til i can get back east. NO, I DO NOT MEAN OHIO!

Just a piece of stolen photography from an travel site for Ireland.

Idiots on the road are de rigeur here in Jersey, and she's learning all about it. Funny, the quote-unquote road test you take out here doesn't happen on a road. It's on a closed course, not unlike one of those blankets you used to lay down on the floor with streets drawn on them so the kids could play with their toy cars. This after she drove down there on the Garden State Parkway during rush hour. Now that was a test!

We do have mountains here, but they're way older than the ones out by you (geologically) so they're only a few hundred feet at most.

Tell Claire I said congratulations and to be a defensive driver. i.e. watch out for idiots on the road.

Where was that picture taken? Did Claire take it? The girl has a definite knack for photography but i didn't think they had mountains in NJ. Or is it something you pulled off the web to make the defensive driving argument?
