Jaded
August 15th, 2006 | | Politics |
Jaded is a spinoff of Waffleass, a new blog by my middle-school (just to be clear, that’s like 35 years ago when it was still called junior high school) friend Anthony Cartouche (not his real name). He shares editorial responsibility with bram_jafuv. Not only is that not his real name, I have no idea who he actually is. Maybe some day they’ll fill me in, though Anthony might still be pissed off that I briefly outed him here.
Nevertheless, the writing shows signs of being more political and incisive than before. bram’s post on the brand-spanking new diagnosis of “personality disorder,” as opposed to “post-traumatic stress disorder,” for some newly discharged veterans is very disturbing. The point is, no veterans healthcare benefits are available for this “personality disorder.” You know, support our troops and all that.
To quote Rufus T. Firefly, “and remember, while you’re out there risking life and limb through shot and shell, we’ll be in here thinking what a sucker you are!”
Another post briefly touches on the depleted uranium issue, something that gets precious little print time but will in the end be a bigger problem than agent orange.

Thanks for the plug, pal. Check’s in the mail.
And no, I’m not even remotely pissed off that I was “outed.” You had no malicious intent, and the post wherein my secret identity was revealed was up for no more than a day or two. Besides, I can’t imagine that anyone would care.
