System Upgrade

матрациRemembering what a horror show it was to upgrade Movable Type at the job — and only for a 4.x to 4.x+1 release — I finally bit the bullet and upgraded from WordPress 2.9.2 to 3.0. After carefully backing up everything, including all my files and the database, pushing the “Upgrade Now” button, holding my breath…

And it just worked. I love WordPress.

While I was at it, I added a plugin to show nicer pagination. If you’re the type that obsessively goes through this blog page-by-page (come on, you know you do) you’ll be the type who finds this helpful. I also cleaned up the search results page a little, so it shows excerpts instead of entire posts. That should make scrolling through a little easier.
