And We Have A Winner

For the annual Emotional Rex Halloween party, this year I finally worked up a costume. Playing off my resemblance to NJ Gov. Jon Corzine, who is up for re-election this year (New Jersey is funny that way, our big elections are in odd-numbered years) I threw on my tux and pretended the party was a fundraiser for my campaign.
My companion was introduced as Carla Katz, and she worked up a couple of campaign buttons for us. Mine said, “Vote for Me” and hers basically said “Vote for Him” with an arrow pointing towards me. I went around encouraging people to make their checks out to “cash.” And while the monetary take was far less than I hoped (zero, actually) I won this cool trophy:

Yes, a splendid time was guaranteed for all. Usually I’m too lazy to come as anything at all, I just wear street clothes — so boring — but this time we looked fahbulous. The trophy is simply, well, stunning, and my acceptance speech earned several rim-shots from the band’s drummer.

That’s funny. So you basically just wore a tux?
Yep. And a campaign button. Some people there actually thought I WAS Corzine, which was especially fun.
