Irises

Montclair’s Presby Memorial Iris Garden was our destination for adventure on Saturday. We’re right in the middle of bloom season now (though they tell us the peak will be around next weekend).
The irises come in an incredible array of colors and sizes. As I understand it, every color except pure red has been cultivated. Cultivars at the garden are labelled and dated with the name of the breeder. Some go back to the 1500s. This one was bred by Linneaus himself.
