Why Is It That Internet Explorer is Still the Bane of My Existence?

It’s been that way since 1996 — thirteen years — and I don’t think anything in my entire life has been a chronic headache for that long a time.

For what it’s worth, today it’s the ridiculously difficult task of debugging Javascript. Just try and get some useful error message out of it other than “duh, it doesn’t work.” It works in Firefox and Safari, dammit.
