BSO Concert Sunday

No, not that BSO. The Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra.

The concert is at 3 p.m. in the faded yet still glorious Church of St. Anne’s on Montague Street, Brooklyn Heights, NY. The program is the Nicolai Overture to The Merry Wives of Windsor, a concerto for bass trombone and orchestra by Ellen Zwillich, and the Beethoven Pastoral symphony.

The Zwillich has some interesting moments. It’s written for string orchestra with timpani and cymbals. The percussionists are doing a great job with it; I recommend sitting up in the balcony where you can watch them do their thing.

The concert is free, with a $15 suggested donation.
