Guilty Pleasures

From the very first days of “reality TV,” I’ve been looking down my nose at it. I won’t watch Survivor, I won’t watch Fear Factor. Never saw an episode of “The Amazing Race.” I try to limit TV in general to a very few shows a week because I’ve got other stuff to attend to and I’m just generally a little snobby that way.

But I have to confess: I’m hooked on “Project Runway.”

Sure, I can blame my daughter for getting me started on it, but that would be wrong. No, it’s just something about the mix of creativity and competitiveness, with a dash of gossip. Oh, and Heidi Klum.

The season finale is next week, and I’m not recommending you start now. A lot of the interest is in the buildup and development. It’s just something I had to get off my chest.

    Me too with Project Runway.
The Amazing Race’s pacing/editing make my eyes twitch involuntarily, otherwise I’ll tolerate it. Haven’t watched it this season though.
I’ve never watched Survivor. IMO it’s backstabbers Gilligan’s Island.

“Backstabbers Gilligan’s Island” … I like that. The skipper makes Mr. Howell eat worms, then casts him into the sea anyway. Maryann and Ginger go mud wrestling.
