Yet Another Concert Announcement
October 10th, 2006 | 0 Comments | Music |
There’ll be more of these as the season progresses, and if your one of our faithful readers outside the New York metro area, I apologize.
The Musica Bella Orchestra of New York notes this year’s Shostakovich centenary on October 22 with an all-Russian program. The first half is the Tchaikovsky Piano Concert No. 1 — that’s the one with the famous tune that was turned into a pop song — with Jeremy Hwang, piano soloist. The second half is Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony.
3:00 p.m. at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 152 W. 71st Street, Manhattan. Free admission, donations graciously accepted.
