This was a funny Portlandia episode once.
Another day, another disappointment. And this time, a bald-faced lie. But finally, success. The first phone call is from Rachel at Cardholder Services. The techs were still out front and we were about to ask them to come back and disconnect us again.
Further adventures in the service economy. But things may be looking up, finally I may have their attention.
When I finally got FIOS installed I thought my troubles were over. Guess again. But working between the cracks of the system I got something repaired today anyway.
Despite my earlier rant, I decided to give Verizon another shot at installing the FIOS service. After all, it could save me $60-80 a month — money that I could certainly use.
Following is the tragi-comic rundown of how it went down. How much patience do I really have? We’ll see — they can’t get it done today, we’ll try again Friday afternoon.
If they can’t even do a basic thing like showing up, why would I want to entrust all my communications to them?
