Strolling around Montreal this January (Montreal in January? Don’t ask) it looks like the City of Murals.

Once we noticed these, we became fixated on the incredibly detailed and cryptic iconography on them.

A few shots.
The high point for many pilgrims is a visit to “La Moreneta,” or Our Lady of Montserrat, a 12th century carving of a black Madonna and child which legend says was found in a grotto on the mountain. But you must see Josep Maria Subirachs’ St. George Chapel.
If I could describe the inside of La Sagrada Familia with one word…
Maybe eight miles of walking there and back, but wondrous.
