Gardens in Temescal (Oakland)

I’m kind of infatuated with this neighborhood. It’s the second time I’ve stayed here while visiting Alex, and it feels really good. The neighborhood is a pleasure to walk through — everyone has a beautiful garden, full of aromatic flowers.

You know, maybe just let folks believe this is a terrible city. They’d only gentrify it more if they knew the truth.
