Biking

Great Summer Ride

Yesterday through the farms and forests of Hunterdon County. It was a new route for the bike club, I think — everybody was making comments to the leader about how he should tweak the directions. There was some quibbling about how late the food stop was — 10 miles before the end — but other than that it was lovely.

We paid upfront, with this haul up out of Flemington:

If you look at the elevation, there’s this “wall,” at mile one, which conveniently goes up and around a cemetary. Then two miles of steady uphill, with several false summits.

Ah. but after that:

Winding and twisting down narrow country lanes…this is why cycling is so great!
