Google Maps Takes You To A Model Railroad

We love model railroads, but this one in Germany is the world’s largest. Over eight miles of track with detailed landscapes and an imaginary population of 200,000.

Google developed special miniaturized cameras to do a street view of the system. There goes my afternoon.

It took a minute for me to find my way in. Here’s a tip: Look for the red location pins and click one, then click down through the locations and sublocations. Some have circular icons with cameras, and some have icons of vehicles. Pick the latter and eventually you’ll land on the ground.
