Coming Soon To A Concert Hall Near You

A few upcoming performances for the last half of this month, in case you want to get out and hear some music.

Saturday, October 19 at 7:30, Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” (in English) with the Amore Opera company in the East Village. Location details and ticket info available at the link.

Sunday, October 20 at 2pm, the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra starts out a new season in a new location — the amazing Brooklyn Museum. The program is Marquez’ “Danzon No. 2”, Rastegar’s “Ode To Youth” (a world premier) and Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 In D Major.

Tuesday, October 22 at 7:30 Amore Opera is doing one of its series of American premier performances of “Das Labyrinth,” a sequel to The Magic Flute. The New York Times has written this up nicely.

And Sunday, October 27 at 2pm The Broadway Bach Ensemble kicks off its 2013-2014 season with of Haydn, Rossini and seasonal music by Vivaldi and Piazzolla. Broadway Presbyterian Church, 114th and Broadway, New York. This one, by the way, is free.
