Communications Woes

I know we’re lucky to have power. Verizon FIOS is out, and cell service is sketchy. Apparently some towers are out-of-commission, and everyone whose land-line service is out is trying to use it simultaneously. Right now I’m using my cell as a mobile hot spot, but that’s spotty too — I’m not the only one with these bright ideas.

Work is closed for the third day. Reports of massive gridlock in Manhattan with no traffic signals and every Manhattanite believing in their God-given right-of-way.

It’s very difficult to even connect to Verizon’s web site to see what the latest reports are.

Shopping malls, other stores, and schools closed again.
