Cuban Pete’s

My new favorite restaurant. Great tapas and sangria, terrific service with an atmosphere and decor that’s pure genius.

Tapas are $3.50 – $5, main courses in the $12 – $15 range. LF and I started with an assortment of the former, a couple different kinds of empanadas, a beef-and-potato hash with plantains, and something amazing called chicken lollipops. For a main course we shared the ceviche and an order of marinated grilled skirt steak.

Dessert was a delicious flan with caramel, and very sweet chocolate pudding.

It’s in Montclair (New Jersey) on Bloomfield Ave. It’s worth a special trip.
