Lydia Johnson Dance

Lydia Johnson runs a professional dance company out of our sister town, South Orange, here in New Jersey. I’ve been doing their web site for over a year, and last spring she invited me and daughter C. to a performance at SOPAC of some of their new works.

Yesterday we posted videos of four of them, and they are worth looking at. I’m no dance expert, but I found them all to be really compelling. Without embarrassing myself by using the wrong technical vocabulary, she’s a good storyteller. Here’s one:

Each is about 9 minutes long, including 50-60 seconds of opening credits. By all means check them out, and remember to support live performance in your neighborhood whenever you can. There’s nothing like seeing it live.
